What is WTAP?
The welcome to America Project is a unique project that provides help and support for refugees that arrive in Arizona. This project ensures that strategic resources are available to help them be self-sufficient in their new home. You can learn more about this organization at https://www.wtap.org/
Phoenix Jewel of the East Partnership with WTAP
Pheonix Jewel of the East partners with WTAP closely to help with donations to WTAP every month. So far, PJOE has donated lightly used clothes, food kits, and hygiene kits for these refugees.
What are we doing this time?
This time, PJOE volunteers are venturing into additional activities beyond donations.
PJOE volunteers will help load prepackaged boxes of household essentials, furniture etc, into their cars and help with delivery to the refugee homes. The volunteers will also help with unpacking and helping set up furniture and homes for these refugees who are learning to settle in a new country.
The volunteers will be extending them a warm welcome to Phoenix and learn more about their personal stories and why they were forced to move out of their country.
